The Assessor's primary duty is to help the township establish the assessments of properties for tax purposes and assist on the Annual Board of Review.  Appraisers are different from assessors.   Appraisers are hired to establish an expert opinion of value for a specific property, hired by an individual or business.  Assessors work with mass appraisal.
